Usually, when we find these ROLEX STANDARD vintage Canadian ROLEX watches, they are quite worn-the cases “brassed out” and the dials heavily stained. This one is VERY WELL preserved-all original circa 1943, being gold filled with steel back. The case is a contract case made for ROLEX by SUTTON-a company that often produced cases for ROLEX. This is a much more uncommon version of the ROLEX STANDARD, being that the case is quite elongated and curved, measuring 19x 47mm. This watch does appear elegant, narrow and elongated on the wrist. It really exudes a great vintage look. The blued steel hands with sub-seconds are original. The ORIGNAL dial is two-toned, with Arabic style numerals and copper toned reflective frame These cases were OFTEN not signed ROLEX; as they were Canadian made for ROLEX in order to circumvent import duties. This case is COMPLETELY CORRECT and original. The original ROLEX manual winding movement is the modified caliber 59 signed (correctly) ROLEX under the dial and not on the movement outer plate. These Canadian version ROLEX STANDARD watches are becoming EXTREMELY difficult to find, especially measuring this length.
