Rolex Standard

Description

This Rolex Standard measures 25x35mm, which is a smaller size, but usual for the early-1940s-era watches. This gold-filled case is without wear and has a stainless steel back. These cases were not signed, as they were Canadian-made for Rolex in order to circumvent import duties. They are completely correct and original. The correct and original Rolex, manual winding movement is the caliber 59, signed (correctly) “ROLEX” under the dial. The dial is original. The print on these dials was often a little wonky, as they were printed in Canada. Notice the reflective, gilt numerals. These Canadian-version Rolex Standard watches are becoming extremely difficult to find. Many are damaged beyond repair.
