Description
The circa 1941 Rolex Victory is a cool vintage watch mainly sold in Canada at the military PX stores and was purchased by soldiers prior to going overseas to fight. Alongside the Victory, the Rolex Skyrocket was also offered. Both these watches were of a smaller size, measuring 28.25mm. This stainless steel case on these watch was produced by Pioneer watch case manufacturer, which was located in Mt. Vernon, NY and were often correctly not signed Rolex anywhere on the case. These cases are completely correct; as Rolex sent the movement, dial and hands to Canada to have the watch cased to save on import duties. The movements on these watches are the Swiss modified FHF (Fontemelon) known as the caliber 59. This correct manual winding movement is signed Rolex under the dial only and never on the exposed bridge. This watch was just fully dismantled, serviced and is accurate. The original dial on this watch is finely preserved for its age. The original pencil hands, sweep seconds and luminous is all original. Notice the red 24 hr. military scale along with the outer reflective 5-minute-increment minute register. This watch retains its correct non-screw-down dust-proof crown. These original and scarce vintage military Rolex watches attract much attention to the wrist.
