This Gold Coin watch is a 1904 authentic American $20 gold coin cut in half with an intricately hand-made skeleton (Swiss-made) watch is hidden inside and encased by 18k gold. This watch was purchased by the original owner for $10,000 in the early 1980s and was hand-made by Langenbacher Goldschmied of Luzern Switzerland, which is a custom jeweler. You would never know there is a watch inside, until you gently depress (with your fingernail) a vertical button located at 3:00 which is discreetly hidden at the edge of the coin. We just had this movement meticulously cleaned by our watchmaker and it is keeping accurate time. These watches often sell between $6000-$10,000 in the re-sale market.
