At WatchesToBuy I always try to find watches in EVERY price range, so the budding collector can enjoy a fine vintage watch. This 1940’s Solar is a Swiss made watch marketed in Canada for Eaton’s department store. If you are familiar with Eaton’s Quarter Century Rolex watches, you will know that the department store gave employees Eatons dialed watches made by Rolex for employees who worked 25 years or more. Further to this, Eaton’s SOLAR often sold watches housed with caliber 59 ROLEX movements as well. This is a fine example of a 40’s Solar with a preserved original dial and interesting heart shaped hands. The Swiss 17 jewel movement was just cleaned and is accurate. These are smaller sized men’s watches compared to today’s standards, (25×36.5mm.) but totally wearable by a man or woman. I love the dial and hands on this watch
