Description
This 1965 King Seiko ref. 44-9990 in stainless steel is one of the finest examples you will find. The sprawling 36.5×44.5mm case retains all its sharp angles on these faceted lugs. This watch was designed during the era of Seiko’s “Grammar of Design” as defined by by Taro Tanaka. Taro’s design features were to include the following: flat, distortion free surfaces, sharp, mirror-polished edges, strong contrast between planes and no rounded transitions at case edges. This vintage watch retains the original raised crystal and notched King Seiko winding crown. The original dial with sharp-edged sword hands and raised steel markers looks fabulous. The 25 jewel caliber 44A movement is accurate. This watch truly resembles a Grand Seiko.
