Tudor Tuxedo 1955

Description

This 1955 vintage Tudor ref. 7950 is one we named the “Tudor Tuxedo”. We coined the name of this watch back over 15 years ago, and it seems the watch world (including Rolex themselves) are referring to these type of dials as “Tuxedo” still to this day. This is the same model we supplied to the television show “Mad Men” worn by John Slattery as the character Roger Sterling. These watches have escalated in price since their notoriety. The 34mm steel Rolex Oyster case with inwardly turned lugs looks great, with only tool marks on the case rear. The two-tone dial is original with a gentle patina. The Dauphine hands are original. The caliber 390 automatic winding movement was just meticulously cleaned and is accurate. These movements are expensive on their own; as the 390 caliber is also utilized in the expensive Tudor Submariner watch as well.
