Description
This vintage 1940s Royce large-sized 37×44.5mm (lug to lug) vintage watch is just massive and very thin at 9.5mm! The giant gold-plated case with stainless steel snap back is glistening and perfect with no wear! The original two-tone dial with Arabic numerals, and gold hands with sub-seconds is quite nice with some aging and marks, but nothing detracting. You can only see in my close-up picture that the name “ROYCE” was printed twice. This was probably original and is just showing through with age, but again, not detracting. Eska watch company was founded during 1918 in Grenchen, Switzerland by S. & E. Kocher and manufactured under the name “ROYCE” as well. This watch exudes all the characteristics of 1940s watch design, along with a fine, just-cleaned, and serviced manual winding Swiss movement.
