Description
This is an all-original military Oyster Centregraph produced by the Rolex watch company in 1943. The Oyster gold-filled case is quite clean and sparkling without any dings or scratches. The gold-filled case with steel back measures 28×34.3×12.4mm (1.12×1.35x.48″). The original dial maintains the original blued steel pencil hands and red sweep seconds. The correct and hard-to-find Oyster-patented winding crown glides smoothly and screws properly. The watch was just overhauled, cleaned, and is keeping excellent time. The original dial is spectacular with Arabic numerals, red sweep seconds, and original pencil hands, all very rare to find in such clean condition! All the print is crystal clear on this watch. The small scratch on the crystal has been polished away, which covered the letters “t”, “r”, and “e” in the word “Centregraph.” This bullseye-style dial is the cleanest I have ever found, it looks amazing! These Oyster watches are small in size to avoid damage during battle. They were designed and sold to Canadian soldiers going overseas in WW2. These vintage military Oyster watches are becoming very hard to find in original and fine condition such as this!
