Description
This 1985 Rolex Submariner 5513 watch was owned by the father of a local reverend here near London Ontario. He wore it for decades. This is a one owner watch complete with box, papers, guarantee, anchor – complete as new. This is known as a transitional Submariner watch, which was the change between the matte dial and this, being the glossy (next) version. Usually these dials suffered a crazing or crackling in the lacquer during this period. This original dial remains shiny like a mirror with raised gold markers and creamy original hands and matching lume in the markers. The original bezel even retains the original triangle dot. My watchmaker meticulously dismantled and serviced this fine piece thoroughly. Any life scars on the case are amplified in my photos and really not seen whilst wearing. The Rolex Submariner should always have a few wrinkles to prove its life history. This watch has a 5512 original factory case back (as sold new) which Rolex commonly put on these watches during this period. The original 93150 Rolex Oyster bracelet displays very clean shape for the 39 year age of the watch. You are buying a complete collector’s package here at a great price. I’m sure these will be $15,000+ again in the near future.
